Jake Paul vs. Joshua: The Biggest Upset Ever?

Jake Paul vs. Joshua: The Biggest Upset Ever?

Jake Paul has boldly declared his readiness to orchestrate "the most significant upset in boxing history" when he clashes with Anthony Joshua, the renowned two-time unified heavyweight champion, this Friday evening in Miami.

However, the methodology behind this ambitious prediction is perhaps the most unexpected element. The former online personality and entertainer asserts that his strategy will hinge on superior boxing technique and tactical acumen to overcome the 2012 Olympic gold medalist. The sports betting world has heavily favored Joshua, positioning him as a substantial underdog.

"Looking at the statistics, the odds are certainly against me. But when we talk about the fundamentals of boxing, I believe my skills surpass AJ's," Paul stated to journalists on Tuesday, December 16th. "He exhibits a lack of fluidity. If I were his trainer, my first recommendation would be dance lessons before even considering boxing."

Paul, who boasts a professional record of 12 wins and 1 loss, has reportedly enlisted numerous sparring partners designed to replicate the challenges he anticipates facing from Joshua.

He faces a considerable physical disparity in his quest to defeat Joshua (whose record stands at 28 wins and 4 losses). Joshua is a towering 6-6 and weighed in at 245 pounds prior to the official weigh-in on Thursday. Paul, in contrast, is listed at 6-1 and 220 pounds.

Paul maintains that his agility and quick foot movement will be instrumental in negating Joshua's size advantage. Nevertheless, Paul's experience in the heavyweight division is limited to a single contest: a unanimous decision victory over the considerably older Mike Tyson (aged 58).

The event will be broadcast live through the streaming platform Netflix.
